The department was started during the academic year
1996 - 97 with approval from AICTE and affiliation
from University of Madras; later from Anna University.
This department has impressive range of laboratories.
The department
library has an extensive collection of academic
books in the areas of latest technologies.
The department
has well equipped laboratory facilities in the area
of thermal, fluid mechanics, dynamics, workshop,
cad/cam, strength of materials. Efficient staffs
guide students & individual attention is given
to students.

department has stable, highly qualified and experienced
staff members in the staff student ratio of 1:13.
Students
are trained both quantitatively and qualitatively
during the lab session that enhance their understanding
and helps further to motivate them to taking
projects and proves as a helping hand to do
their projects efficiently.
Practical
awareness is inculcated to the students by arranging
industrial visits & in-plant training.
Guest lecturers & seminars are
held to update their knowledge in
mechanical engineering.
Personality development programs
are conducted to improve student's
